“18 actors boldly stepping where we haven’t before.”
I guess the first thing you’ll shout when you read this post is ‘ugh, first world problems’ and you are completely right.
As I’m sure you know by now this project is made of working class actors. We have all been working our buts off for years so that we can make a career of the thing we love the most. And trust me, we don’t choose being an actor lightly. Some people have had a whole other career but came back to acting knowing it’s what they really need to do.
We are all sacrificing certain things to make this project happen and definitely had a few wobbles throughout the project so far. And to any of my other cast members reading this I’m sure if you haven’t yet… your wobble is coming!
So far we’ve given up a hell of a lot of time, emotional energy and a couple of car windows. Around Christmas time mine and another cast member’s cars got broken into when we were at a meeting. I guess everybody loves Christmas.
We know there’s a long way to go and so much more we’re going to contribute to this project. Having very little experience we are all taking on jobs to make it happen. We’ve become location scouts for the trailer, website builders, social media managers and we’ve even formed a funding team. 18 actors boldly stepping where we haven’t before.
We are doing this because we love the project. Chances like these for actors are exciting. The fact that we get to be a part of it is something we are all truly grateful for. And I personally feel so lucky to be with a group of such talented actors who inspire me every time I see them.
I hope eventually you’ll grow to feel as passionate about this project as I do and jump on the bus with us.
