Paul Murphy

Paul Murphy is an award-winning television director. Over his 20-year career, Paul has directed many household-name shows in the U.K. and also in the U.S. including DR WHO, DEATH IN PARADISE, CUCKOO, TROLLIED, GALAVANT and DOWNWARD DOG to name but a few. Paul has just completed the musical finale of the ABC/Disney show; American Housewife season 3 written by the LA LA LAND and THE GREATEST SHOWMAN team Justin Paul and Glenn Slater. He is currently helping to develop a new musical with the Jim Henson Group entitled FELTBAGS.

Paul’s main passion is for comedy/drama with heart. The theme of this work; THE CLAIMANTS, both celebrates the need for community and the benefits of living with shared ideals but will also explore the impact when that community collapses often leaving a cultural vacuum in its wake. With this in mind, the story behind THE CLAIMANTS has been described as ‘an allegory to life in Brexit Britain’.
